I delight in walking Fern, my English Springer Spaniel, through the woods and fields around Stanmer and over the South Downs.
From the garden of Stanmer House we look across pasture to Mill Wood on the opposite ridge.
Are those Charolais cattle?
I don't know. There are very few breeds of cattle I can recognise, and I probably get those wrong two times out of three!
