I delight in walking Fern, my English Springer Spaniel, through the woods and fields around Stanmer and over the South Downs.
Looking a bit to the left of yesterday's picture we see a small copse known as Rocky Clump. This was once the site of a Roman shrine.
Is this Rocky Clump anywhere near here?or -Gee, I think I went to school with Rocky Clump.or -Rocky Clump and the Roman Shriners would be a good name for a polka band.
One and the same, which just goes to show that your memory is better than mine!or - Not much I can say about that.or -Did the Romans do the polka?
